How to use pawpaws

The easiest, and best way to use pawpaws is to eat them fresh. Simply cut the fruit in half the long way, twist the two halves apart, and scoop the flesh out with a spoon. Avoid eating any seeds or skin.



Our next favorite way to eat pawpaws is in pawpaw ice cream. The recipe is simple.

2 cups of pawpaw pulp (skins and seeds removed)

2 cups milk

2 cups cream

2 cups sugar (or less)

Blend together and prepare in an icecream maker.


Pawpaw pulp

A great way to store and use pawpaw in recipes is by making pawpaw pulp. You can do this by scooping the flesh out of the skin and into a simple food mill or ricer to separate the flesh and seeds and to pulp the flesh. Try to avoid getting any skin or green fruit in the pulp.
